ARRAY’S Insight on Twitter and Federal Social Media

Greenbelt, MD, August 21, 2012 In this perspective written for AOL Government, Colleen Hope, Information Architect at Array Information Technology, discusses how the federal government was well positioned to evolve with the revolutionary impact of Twitter and other social media upon public affairs. It was able to build upon the 2004 creation of the Federal Web Managers Council and federal guidelines for the web so that the new agency social media efforts were not developing in a vacuum. Federal web managers already were working together to craft guidelines for rapidly changing technologies and share best practices.
