ARRAY Agile Lead Bill Walski to participate in 2021 Montgomery Information Technology Summit
Bill Walski joins DoD and industry experts to discuss how Agile fits into the OODA loop methodology.
Fairfax, VA, May 17, 2021 – ARRAY Agile Lead Bill Walski will be joining a panel of experts to discuss cycle time in IT planning at the 2021 Montgomery Information Technology Summit (MITS). The MITS panel – Agile – will take place on May 18, and will feature discussions among leaders in the DoD and Government IT Space. Inspired by the OODA loop methodology created by Colonel John Boyd to Observe, Orient, Decide and Act to gain air-to-air superiority, the Agile panel will discuss how OODA can be applied to other domains, especially in the delivery of warfighter IT capabilities.
Bill will share expertise gained through his work on the Air Force’s Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segments (DCAPES) system, which delivers command and control capabilities to exchange accurate and timely data for a more effective force projection across a wide range of operational scenarios. In this capacity, Bill serves as the Agile Lead for five integrated teams, working in collaboration with government product owners to transition DCAPES from a legacy waterfall to a scaled agile development framework. Since the introduction of a scaled agile development framework on DCAPES, software releases have been able to increase in frequency, now often updating on a monthly basis instead of a near-yearly one.
Bill will be joined at MITS by Kyna McCall-Paster, President of the AFCEA Montgomery Chapter and ARRAY Client Executive. Kyna has served as Montgomery Chapter President for over two years, this year presiding over the 27th Annual Montgomery Information Technology Summit (MITS), and first virtual MITS. As president, Kyna will act as master of ceremony during MITS, offering an opening welcome to attendees and bringing awareness to the annual programs executed through the chapter’s Education Foundation (EdF) such as scholarships and internships for high school and college students; grants to teachers; and hosting several STEM-related events for youth and young adults.
The MITS virtual event will take place on May 18, 20, 25 & 27, from 8 am – 10 am CDT.
