ARRAY Senior Program Manager Jan Johnson Named Finalist for WashingtonExec Pinnacle Awards

Greenbelt, MD, 10/22/20 – Array Information Technology (ARRAY) is pleased to announce that Jan Johnson, ARRAY Senior Program Manager, has been selected as a finalist for WashingtonExec’s 2020 Pinnacle Awards. Johnson joins four other finalists in the category of Diversity and Inclusion. Johnson was selected as a finalist for this award based her dedication to creating a more diverse and inclusive environment within ARRAY and her community from a long-term perspective.

ARRAY President and CEO, Sumeet Shrivastava said, “Jan Johnson is a phenomenal leader. Within her community, she is leading efforts to create a workforce of the future that consists of a diverse group of people and an inclusive culture. Within ARRAY, she is a collaborative, strong leader that leads with action and confidence.”

At ARRAY, Johnson leads ARRAY’s largest, most complex program – an Air Force ACAT 1 system with congressional oversight in modernizing development of software and tools to ensure warfighter and mission support. In 2020, ARRAY was awarded a 4-year follow on contract – a direct reflection of the team’s successes and renewed relationship with the customer and functional community. The program’s success stems from the collective excellence of the team that Johnson leads as she empowers her team and promotes a culture of inclusion and transparency.

From mentorship to advocacy, Johnson also takes an active role in her local community of Montgomery, Alabama to provide opportunities for young children, in particular those of underserved communities. As a young African American female, she strives to be a role model for students and show that there are professionals in science, technology, engineering and math of under-represented groups achieving success today in communities.

“I believe diversity extends beyond the most obvious things you see – race, gender, age. It is deeper than that. People are different. I want to show kids it is okay to be different. They don’t need to fit inside this box of perfection – look a certain way, think a certain way. If they love math and love to answer questions, that is okay and there is a place for them,” said Johnson.

Winners will be announced at the virtual award ceremony on November 12. To learn about the Pinnacle Awards or register to attend the award ceremony, please visit pinnacle-awards.com.
